Cookie Policy

How this website uses cookies and similar technologies, what each one does, and how you can control them.

1 · What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to give site owners information about how their site is being used. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called "first-party" cookies; cookies set by another organisation, such as an analytics provider, are called "third-party" cookies.

This policy covers cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) used on the Countrywide Golf Contractors website.

2 · How we use them

We keep our use of cookies deliberately light. This is a brochure website: we do not run advertising, we do not sell data, and we do not use cookies to build marketing profiles or track you across other websites.

The only cookies we use are analytics cookies, set by Google Analytics. These help us understand how many people visit the site and which pages are useful, so we can improve it. Analytics cookies are only set with your consent, and the site works perfectly well without them.

3 · The cookies we set

The table below lists the cookies used on this website, what they are for and how long they last.

ANALYTICS · GOOGLE ANALYTICS (GA4)
CookieProviderPurposeExpiry
_gaGoogle AnalyticsDistinguishes one visitor from another by assigning a randomly generated client ID, so visits can be counted.2 years
_ga_<ID>Google AnalyticsUsed by GA4 to maintain session state for the specific property measuring this site.2 years
_gat_gtag_<ID>Google AnalyticsUsed to throttle the rate of requests, limiting the volume of data collected on high-traffic sites.1 minute

Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited. The data it collects is processed in line with Google's own privacy terms. IP addresses are anonymised by GA4 by default and we do not enable any advertising features. Replace <ID> above with your live Google Analytics measurement ID once it is in place.

4 · Similar technologies

Some parts of the site use your browser's local storage rather than cookies. Local storage works in a similar way but the information stays on your own device and is never sent to us or to anyone else.

We use it only to remember small interface preferences so the site behaves the way you left it, for example the position of an interactive before-and-after image slider. This contains no personal information, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

5 · Controlling cookies

You are in control of analytics cookies. When you decline them, none are set, and you can change your mind at any time.

You can also manage cookies through your browser. Most browsers let you see what cookies are stored, delete them, and block some or all of them. The help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge explain how. Please note that blocking all cookies may affect how some websites work.

To opt out of Google Analytics across every website you visit, you can install Google's official browser opt-out add-on.

6 · Changes & contact

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add new tools to the site. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
